Environmental Management

Organizations around the world, as well as their stakeholders, are becoming increasingly aware of the need for environmental management systems, socially responsible behavior, and sustainable growth and development.

International Standard Series ISO 14000 is rapidly becoming the chosen method for organizations to work towards common and comparable environmental management system (EMS) practices to support the sustainability of their business, products, and services.

More pressure is coming from governments and regulatory bodies to use a framework like ISO 14001 to ensure alignment and consistency both nationally and internationally.

With the new ISO 14001 Standard comes the emphasis on proactive management of environmental aspects, enterprise risk, corporate governance, and sound operational and financial practices and performance.

ISO 14001 has been newly designed and with it the framework to be more compatible and harmonized with other standards, most notably the ISO 9001 requirements.

ISO 14001, the Environmental Management Standard, provides significant benefits:

  • Reduces company liability and risk
  • Increases operational flexibility and efficiency
  • Improves internal management methods
  • Provides a foundation for pollution prevention, waste and cost reduction
  • Increases opportunities for recognition of exceptional environmental              practices by the public, investors, regulators and other companies
  • The most efficient environmental regulatory compliance

MOCG has led a number of companies through the ISO 14001 process, developing their EMS, and in many cases integrating it with their quality assurance practices and quality management system.
